PL26 Leadership Announced
South Adelaide Netball Club (the Club) has officially unveiled its leadership group for the upcoming 2026 season, naming a dynamic mix of experienced athletes and emerging leaders across both Premier League and Premier League Reserves.
Following a strong pre-season and a thoughtful selection process, the newly appointed leaders reflect the Club’s commitment to fostering a high-performance environment built on accountability, connection, and team-first values.
At the helm of the Premier League side, Alex Ward‘s appointment as Captain recognises not only her on-court performances, but her ability to lead with consistency, composure, and intent. Supported by Kayla Howes, who joined the Club for the 2026 season and has already established herself as a strong and energetic member of the squad, will work together to build on the strong foundations established during pre-season and drive standards across all areas of the PL program.
The PL Reserves leadership group mirrors this approach, highlighting the Club’s depth of leadership and its focus on developing future senior leaders. Courtney Bailey steps into the Captaincy position, with support from Savanna Musarella as Vice Captain and Penzy Hocking as the extended leadership group. These athletes have demonstrated strong character, work ethic, and a willingness to lead by example – qualities that will be crucial in supporting both team performance and athlete development throughout the season.
PL Head Coach, Reece Turtur emphasised that leadership extends beyond titles, with the group expected to foster a positive and inclusive culture, support teammates, and uphold the standards that define the Club both on and off the court.
“This group represents who we are and where we’re wanting to go. They bring a balance of experience and fresh perspective, and we’re confident they will lead with purpose and pride whilst leaning into the leadership qualities of others and bringing everyone along on the journey we’re about to take.”
The Club congratulates all appointed leaders and looks forward to seeing them shape the season ahead.
